Harold Schoenhaus, DPM, FACFAS is a board-certified foot, rearfoot, and reconstructive ankle surgeon by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is a past president and current fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He holds staff appointments and operating privileges at the University of Pennsylvania Presbyterian Hospital and Chestnut Hill hospital. Dr Schoenhaus' research and clinical interests are in biomechanics, pathomechanics and reconstructive surgery, including joint replacement surgery and pediatric podiatric surgery. Moreover, Dr Schoenhaus is the surgical editor for PRESENT e-Learning Systems, an online medical education and networking resource dedicated to improving the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals throughout the world. He is a nationally recognized lecturer and pioneer in the field of lower extremity pathomechanics and reconstructive surgery. Dr Schoenhaus has authored several landmark articles in peer-reviewed journals and books. In 2015 Dr Schoenhaus was the recipient of the Gallery of Success Award from Temple University.

Robert G Frykberg, DPM, MPH, MAPWCA, FRSM, FFPM (Glasg), is a graduate of the California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1976. Dr Frykberg went on to complete his residency training at the New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston. He served as the President of the Massachusetts Podiatric Medical Society and a Member of the Board of Registration in Podiatry. From 1992 to 1994, he attended the Harvard School of Public Health and graduated with a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in quantitative methods. After 21 years of private practice, Dr Frykberg accepted the position as Clinical Dean of the Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery prior to moving to Phoenix. After 15 years of dedicated service to our Veterans, Dr Frykberg has decided to retire from his role as Chief of Podiatry at the Phoenix VA Medical Center and as Director of the Phoenix VA Medical Center Podiatric Residency Program. He continues to hold the academic rank of Professor, University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix and Adjunct Professor, Midwestern University Program in Podiatric Medicine. His research and writing interests have included all facets of lower extremity disorders, but are specifically focused on diabetic foot ulcers, infections, Charcot foot, and wound care. The author of nearly 100 peer-reviewed publications, he has also been the Editor of two textbooks: The High-Risk Foot in Diabetes Mellitus (1991) and the Diabetic Charcot Foot (2010). His expertise in the Diabetic Foot translated into hundreds of speaking invitations nationally and internationally with numerous lecture engagements in China, India, Russia, South America, the UK, Vietnam, Japan, Indonesia, Italy, and across Europe.

She is also an honor graduate from the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr Cole has practiced in Northeast Ohio for over 22 years. She is an adjunct professor and Director of Wound Care Research at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. She is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and the American Board of Wound Management. She has been a dedicated wound care advocate for two decades with interests focused on medical education, diabetic foot care, wound care, limb salvage, & clinical research. Her passion to help others has led her participate in humanitarian efforts including a medical mission to Jordan in 2018 to aid the large Syrian refugee population seeking asylum from civil war. Dr. Cole has published numerous peer-reviewed and industry articles on these topics and is a sought-after speaker both nationally and internationally. She is a feature writer for Podiatry Management and Today’s Wound Clinic as well as a contributing writer for Podiatry Today. She is an Editorial Board member of Wound Management and Prevention, Podiatry Today, The Foot Journal, Wound Masterclass, Podiatry Management and Lower Extremity Review. She is also the Podiatry Section Editor for the ePlasty Journal and a Guest Editor for Foot and Ankle Quarterly. She is a wound care advocate on the forefront of wound research and was the 2020 World Union of Wound Healing Silver Medal Award recipient for her work in Technology-driven Research and the 2022 recipient of the Kaplan-Kanat Memorial Lecture Award. Venu Kavarthapu was appointed as an orthopaedic consultant at King’s College Hospital NHS Trust in London, UK, in 2006. He is the orthopaedic lead of the King’s Multi-disciplinary Diabetic Foot Unit and has set-up the functional limb salvage Charcot foot reconstruction service that has been recognised nationally. He also established the ‘Multidisciplinary and Surgical Reconstruction of Charcot Foot Symposium' and ‘King’s Charcot Foot Reconstruction Cadaver Workshop’ course in London. The Diabetic Foot Reconstruction Fellowship that is offered in his unit is popular among the foot and ankle trained surgeons. His clinical research interest is on Charcot foot and infection clearance surgery of the diabetic foot. He has published extensively on diabetic foot surgery and authored 6 book chapters on this subject. He is invited for most key diabetic foot meetings, and is a dynamic member of several specialist societies. Dr Shapiro has taught at Western University for the past 13 years and is a full professor and associate dean of clinical affairs. He is the residency program director at the Chino Valley Medical Center PMSR/RRA program in Chino, California. Dr Shapiro's training includes a 3-year foot and ankle residency at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan after graduating from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, CA in 2003. Tracy R Smith, PhD, RD, LD, is National Clinical Liaison at Abbott Nutrition. In her position, Dr Smith is responsible for developing and executing programs to educate health care professionals and researchers about the science behind Abbott’s nutrition products and the health economic impact of nutrition intervention. She has presented numerous domestic and international continuing education programs and educational lectures related to the role of nutrition in the changing healthcare environment, and clinical topics related to muscle health, malnutrition, and health outcomes. She started her career as a scientist at Abbott Nutrition in 2002 and has worked in Research and Development, Abbott Nutrition Health Institute, Therapeutic Nutrition Marketing and Strategic Sales. Dr Smith earned a PhD in human nutrition from The Ohio State University, as well as a Master of Science in nutrition and a Bachelor of Science in dietetics from Ohio University. She has been a member of the American Dietetic Association and Ohio Dietetic Association since 1987. Prior to joining Abbott Nutrition, Dr Smith was director and assistant professor of dietetics at Zane State College, a lecturer in the nutrition department at The Ohio State University and adjunct faculty in the school of nursing at Capital University. Her clinical background includes work in intensive and cardiac care, diabetes and oncology. She also developed and conducted community wellness and nutrition programs, including adult and child weight management and hospital-based fitness programs. Robert Snyder, DPM, MSc, MBA, CWSP, FFPM RCPS (Glasg) is Dean, School of Podiatric Medicine, Professor and Director of Clinical Research and Director, Fellowship Program in Wound Care and Research at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine. He has created and implemented the first post residency Wound Management and Research Fellowship for podiatric medical schools. He is certified in foot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is also a board certified wound specialist. Dr Snyder is past-president of the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care and past-president of the American Board of Wound Management, a certifying body for wound care specialists. In addition to his doctorate, he holds an MSc in Wound Healing and Tissue Science from Cardiff University College of Medicine. His expertise at Cardiff, Wales, was further acknowledged with an appointment as Honorary Senior Lecturer. To constantly expand his knowledge and stay current in all aspects of healthcare, he is completing an MBA in Health Management. He then completed his surgical residency at St Mary’s Medical Center. Dr Traynor is trained in foot and ankle trauma and reconstruction, elective surgery and wound care. In addition to private practice, he remains involved in student and resident education. Dr Traynor is a clinical instructor for The California School of Podiatric Medicine and clerkship director of the St Mary’s Podiatric Surgery Residency Program. Terry Treadwell, MD, FACS received his medical education at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. He continued his training doing his general and vascular surgical residencies at Scott and White Medical Center in Temple, Texas. He practiced vascular and general surgery in Montgomery, Alabama. In October, 1998, Dr Treadwell founded The Institute for Advanced Wound Care at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery. He served as Medical Director of the center and treated wound patients on a full-time basis providing the best possible care to this seemingly forgotten group of patients. In February, 2006, the Institute for Advanced Wound Care moved to Baptist Medical Center in Montgomery. Dr Treadwell serves as the Medical Director of the Institute. He has been involved with numerous educational and research initiatives and directs wound care educational programs at his wound center to help educate physicians and other medical personnel in the current therapy of acute and chronic wounds. Dr Treadwell has shared his experience in the treatment of chronic wounds through lectures and presentations and publications. Wound care practitioners from around the world have attended preceptorships at the Institute for Advanced Wound Care. He has assisted in the establishment of wound treatment centers in Ghana, Africa, and Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Dr Treadwell is the Clinical Editor of Wounds magazine and is a member of the World Association of Medical Editors. He is a member of the Wound Healing Society and the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care. He has served two terms as the Physician Member of the AAWC Board of Directors. He has served as the President of the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care and is currently the Past-President of the organization. He is also serving on the World Health Organization Committee and the World Alliance for Wound and Lymphedema Care to develop wound education and treatment guidelines for treatment of acute and chronic wounds in underdeveloped countries of the world. Marie Williams, DPM, DABPS, DHLS, is board certified in foot and ankle surgery and a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr Williams was the first clinical dean at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and is currently an Adjunct Professor for the school. Dr Williams has been in private practice since 1984. She is currently the Chairman of the Department of Podiatry at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center. She has been involved in residency training since 1986 and a Program Director in Podiatric Surgery and Medicine since 1988. Dr Williams is a speaker in the field of foot and ankle surgery as well as limb salvage. She has published several articles on the healing of complex wounds and limb salvage, while also authoring a chapter: Bone Infections in "Foot and Ankle Radiology". In August 2014, Dr Williams was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts along with her teammates from Immaculata College. Their team, the Mighty Macs, captured three consecutive Championships. They were considered trailblazers for women sports, and in the 70s they help bring about Title 9 and equality for women in sports. In June 2015 they received the trailblazer award in the women’s basketball hall of fame. Dr Williams was recently requested to be a Keynote Speaker for Immaculata University and received the Doctor of Humane Letters for her humanitarian efforts in May 2018.
